New Travel Risk Map Shows Countries Affected by Ebola and Related Restrictions

Growing concerns over the Ebola outbreak have prompted governments worldwide to introduce travel restrictions, quarantine requirements, and enhanced health measures to prevent the spread of the virus. In response, Riskline has launched a new interactive map that helps travelers and travel planners assess potential travel risks and understand current entry requirements.

The map provides a comprehensive and regularly updated overview of countries affected by Ebola, destinations that have imposed travel restrictions, and those implementing health screening procedures to reduce transmission risks.

As of June 15, active Ebola cases and transmission have been reported only in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. However, 22 countries have introduced measures such as entry bans, visa suspensions, mandatory quarantines, and border closures to prevent the virus from spreading. These countries include the United States, Canada, South Korea, India, Mexico, and The Bahamas.

In addition, 93 countries—including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, and Japan—have implemented health screening requirements for travelers arriving from affected areas. These measures may involve temperature checks, health declaration forms, and other monitoring procedures. Many countries enforcing travel restrictions have also adopted health screening protocols.

Travelers and travel professionals can access the latest information and explore the interactive map through Riskline’s website to stay informed about evolving travel requirements and health-related risks.
